Eastern Europe 2014 - Prague

Prague

Prague is divided into several small areas which include Old Town, New Town, Little Quarter and Castle Quarter.  We spent most of our time in these areas, with one trip further out to see Alfons Mucha's Slav Epic.

Prague is an absolute jewel of a city.  Certainly the prettiest I've ever seen.  It is very hard to pick just a few photos to represent the city. The Old Town Square and The Charles Bridge were fun enough to just hang out and people watch.  Wenceslas Square in New Town always had things going on.  The Castle District was very impressive and no photos could capture the beauty of St. Vitus Cathedral lit up on the hill at night.

We stayed in a lovely little flat in the Old Town district of Prague. We visited several museums including the Mucha Museum, the Slav Epic, the Museum of Communism, and the Jewish Museum which consisted of numbers of synagogues and landmarks (few of which allowed photos, unfortunately).  We also spent a couple of nights at a jazz club, called The Jazz Dock, which was on a barge on the river.
